Beckert-Schiders
Important and rare Loetz Cameo Glass bowl with applied ball
feet designed by Marey Beckert-Schiders, wife of Adolf Beckert, who was
the artistic director of the Loetz glass works. She displayed her
work at the 1924 Museum of Applied Arts in Prague, and again at the
Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes
in Paris in 1925.
The same piece is shown in an original photo from the Museum
exhibition in the original Passau Loetz books, vol.1 on page 291, and
almost the same bowl again on page 292.
There's also a color photograph of the same piece, except
with a crimped rim on page 34 of Das Bohmische Glas vol. VI. and also
on page 272 of the Neue Galerie Loetz book.
Great opportunity to own a rare and unique piece of well
documented Loetz cameo glass by a famous designer.
