 Columbian Exhibition Karneol Decorated Vase

 

Loetz 1893 Exhibition decorated Karneol Vase

Beautiful Loetz Exhibition Karneol vase, decorated with a wonderful Japanese Art Nouveau scene depicting Japanese stylized cranes in flowering trees.


The vase is shown for size reference on a 28" tall stand, with a 12" Loetz Medici vase below.  The Medici vase, which is quite large itself, is dwarfed by the Loetz Karneol vase.  This is a VERY large vase, and will be the center of any collection.  Truly a spectacular giant piece of Loetz with an important history.

This decoration is shown in the original Passau Loetz books, volume I, on page 67.  It indicates that this decoration was shown at the 1893 Exhibition.

Any white spots are reflections from the photography lights.
Dimensions: 13.75" tall, 15" wide.
Condition: Very good to Excellent (very minor wear to gold decor around the top, and wear to gold on top of rim)
