Legras Mont Joye
Art Deco Cameo Glass Vase |

Mont Joye
Signature in the center
with the
LSD monogram.
Legras Mont Joye Art Deco Cameo Vase
Rare acid-cutback
vase by Auguste Heiligenstein for Mont Joye, St Denis; France,
c1931. The vase has a deeply acid-cut design of stylized roses
among foliage. Super cameo signature to body 'Mont Joye' with the
'LSD' (Legras Saint Denis) monogram. With the exception of these
Heiligenstein vases, all Mont Joye glass was signed to the
underside of the base.
This Art Deco
cameo vase is done much in the same style as it's Daum
rivals. The cameo work is exception, with circular cameo
medallions of Art Deco stylized
roses. The vase is horizontally divided into three sections, with
the top and bottom sections being fired polished to achieve a glossy
appearance, as do the section
'dividers' if you will, and the middle and lower sections are done in a
matte finish. Really a very eye appealing piece, with great
Citroen color and beautiful presence. This will definitely
stand out in your collection.
The signature was
cleverly incorporated into the design (as shown above). It's
properly signed 'Mont Joye L.S.D.' (Legras Saint Dennis).
