Steuben ACB Cameo Box
Fine & Rare Rosaline over Alabaster Double Cut "Chinese" Pattern

Steuben ACB Cameo Box

Raise your sights here with this wonderful Rosaline over Alabaster double cut Acid Cut Back (ACB) cameo glass box.  Shape # 5074 done in their wonderful "Chinese" pattern.    A bit difficult to pick up in the photo's, but the Chinese design is cut into the white Alabaster glass as well as the Rosaline glass, which is typically referred to as "double cut." This same box is in the collection of the Rockwell Museum, Corning, New York (which is now owned by the Corning Museum of Glass).

This identical box is shown on page 251 in the book "Frederick Carder and Steuben Glass" by Thomas Dimitroff.   It's also shown in the Paul Gardner book "The Glass of Frederick Carder" on color plate XXV, group C.

A truly rare and hard to find piece of Carder era glass!

Dimensions: 5" tall, 4" diameter
Condition: Excellent
Maker:  Frederick Carder Steuben Glass
Vintage: c. 1924
