The Decorative Arts Museum in Prague (www.upm.cz) is holding the
exhibition: From
Neuwelt to the Whole World / 300 Years of Harrach Glass -
May 31, 2012 - September 16, 2012
In existence
for three centuries, the Harrach glassworks has been acknowledged as
one of the most prominent glass enterprises to have made a significant
contribution to the international acclaim of Czech glass. Throughout
every stage of Bohemia’s glass production, from the early 18th century
to the end of the 20th century, the Harrach glassworks played a
progressive and quite often a determining role in terms of both style
and technology.

The
Corning Museum of Glass (www.cmog.org)
is currently holding two excellent glass exhibitions!
Founders of American Studio Glass: Harvey
K. Littleton - November 17, 2011 - January 6, 2013
- In celebration of the 50th anniversary, in 2012, of the “birth” of
the American Studio Glass movement, this exhibition features works by
one of the founders of the movement, Harvey K. Littleton. The objects
on display - 19 vessels and sculptures and five vitreographs (prints
made from glass plates) - span the arc of Littleton’s career in glass
from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Masters
of Studio Glass: Erwin Eisch - March 15, 2012 - Febuary 3, 2013 -
A special exhibition of 22 vessels and sculptures by one of
the founders of studio glass in Europe, Erwin Eisch (German, b. 1927).
The exhibition recognizes Eisch for his achievements in developing
glass as a material for artistic expression, and it celebrates the 50th
anniversary of the birth of studio glass
in the United States.
